For this mini-project, I worked with a team and created a stop-motion animation by taking multiple pictures in a row of actions to create a story or to show a progression. We showed different colors of light and had our model spin around a few times. Then, I took the photos that we shot and resized them using Photoshop. Once I had them uploaded on my computer, I opened an image on Photoshop, recorded the action of resizing it to be smaller and then saving it, and then ran a batch of all the photos we took. Doing that resized all of my photos to the same size without having to do each one of them individually. I then put the photos into Flash and created a video out of them that ran 24 frames per second.
This little stop-motion animation taught me an important skill that I can use in my documentary project. In my documentary, I can possibly use stop-motion animation to explain things in a quick and creative way. So if, for example, a voice-over is talking about oil rigs in Canada or something, I can make an animation that shows an entertaining, dancing maple leaf. |
